A Woman’s Place, Rayka Zehtabchi
“To highlight the challenges women face in the restaurant business, not just as chefs but also as owners and in jobs like butchers, KitchenAid, the kitchen appliance company, has commissioned “A Woman’s Place,” a documentary by Rayka Zehtabchi and produced by Digitas, Ventureland and Vox Creative. The 29-minute film follows Karyn Tomlinson, a Minneapolis chef; Marielle Fabie, the chef de cuisine at a ramen shop in Oakland, Calif.; and Etana Diaz, a butcher from Seattle, as they manage working in male-dominated spaces, contend with their parents’ aspirations for them and try to meet their personal goals.” - NYT
Kiss the Ground
“60 years. That’s about how long we have until the world’s remain topsoil is gone. “What we’re looking at is man-made desertification,” said Josh Tickell in his recent keynote speech at Driving Value Through Sustainability Across the Supply Chain. There’s hope, though. Kiss the Ground, explores how this crisis can be reversed, explaining that when we regenerate the world’s soils we can stabilize the Earth’s climate, restore local ecosystems, and create abundant food supplies.”
